2014 Day 5 Blog Mind Power Meditation(Kevin Solon)

With the New Year now fully underway, resolutions abound I've decided to focus on spending time meditating each day. The system I will be using I learned off

Kevin Solon worked in the business world for many years. He holds a Diploma in Psychotherapy, Counselling and Hypnotherapy and is a Master Practitioner in NLP and is qualified in TFT. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of emotional issues as well as motivation, stress management and confidence building. In addition, Kevin has a Diploma in Life and Business Coaching and engages in personal, executive and corporate coaching. Kevin is currently Vice President of the Irish Institute of Cognitive and Humanistic Psychotherapy (IICHP).kevin-solon-the-harmony-group

      The method I am using is :
  • deep breathing with the eyes closed until you are comfortably relaxed
  • then focus on picturing a pleasant image , in full detail
  • then imagine a sound, noise or music that makes you feel good
  • feel something on your body eg. like feet walking through water on the beach
  • visualize your perfect life ie. house, car, job, relationship
  • for the next few minutes breath deeply & slowly from your stomach , just like a baby does
When you start this there is no time limit , just do what you are comfortable with.

2014 Day 4 Blog Cruising ( Arsenal style)

As in most sports balance within working effectively & over doing it is very important . With regards to this I have taken a relaxed view on today's journey. Relaxed most of the day just did a few exercises from Jason Glass' Explosive Rotational Power video.

Key Elements of the Golf Swing, Finish Position

For a lot of golfers , they tend to focus too much on the backswing & neglect how important the finish position is. This position is a tell tale sign of what has gone on previously in the swing. Balance here is the key.
  • The club should be across the back of the neck
  • The right shoulder should be facing the target
  • Yours hips should have fully cleared & be pointing at the target or slightly left
  • All your weight has now transferred onto the left leg
  • The left leg is straight 
  • The right knee , belt buckle & sternum our now pointing at the target
  • You are in BALANCE

Key Elements of the Golf Swing, 6 The Release Position

Happy New Year , the 6th Position or the release position is what we will be looking at today.

After impact it is important that everything keeps moving forwards towards the TARGET.



  • Body continues to rotate
  • the shaft mirrors the plane at set-up
  • left elbow is folded with the right arm extended ie this is a mirror image of the half-way back position
  • majority of the body weight has now shifted onto the left side

2014 Day 1 Blog "Lift off "

DAY 1 

After much procrastination & convenient , I'll do it tomorrow statements I've started on my 2014 journey. This will consist of a fitness regime, nutritional plan & extreme golf practice.
After waking up this morning with a migraine again & my asthma , it would've been easy to say I'll start when I'm well. But, I've stuck to the plan & have dug out the bike & weights etc.

I downloaded Eric Thomas' new mix tape to help with the motivational aspect & will be taking time out everyday to spend at least one hour on the mental aspect of my game & life.

Not feeling the best but no excuses anymore
